I have launched The Sangreal, Book 3 of my young adult fantasy series, The Maqlû, out into the world. It’s not available everywhere yet, but I have launched the audiobook (AI narrated), ebook, paperback, and hardback formats in multiple channels. It should be available everywhere in the next couple of weeks.
It takes up where book 2, The Pair Dadeni, leaves off – Alex is adrift in the ocean after encountering the second of the magical objects known as the Maqlû. Below is the blurb (the back cover copy) for The Sangreal. (The action starts in the Atlantic Ocean near Bimini, then takes Alex to Blackbeard Island off the coast of Georgia, back to Salem, then the Southern Ute Indian Reservation in Colorado (where the Bear Dance takes place), then on to Spain and Romania.)
What The Sangreal is about:
All Alex Scire wants to do is go home, but after accidentally destroying The Fountain of Youth, he finds himself adrift on the ocean. With his usual knack for finding trouble, he faces one deadly encounter after another as soon as he reaches land until he meets a ghost who holds the secret to the fabled Sangreal.
Thinking he has another chance to help his sister move on in the afterlife, Alex embarks on a quest that takes him from the dungeons of the Spanish Inquisition to Dracula’s old haunts in Transylvania. To find the mythical object, though, he, and his Druid friends Jane and Diana, will have to survive assassination attempts and a deadly new cabal of ghosts. But those are nothing compared to the dangers that await them at the Sangreal.
Next Steps:
- Once I hit the ‘publish’ button, it takes a couple of weeks for the books to be available.
- I’ve already started work on revising book 4 – The Cintamani Stone. It will be available early summer of 2023.
- Next month, my travel guide-daughter and I are going to Greece and Italy to research books 5 & 7.
- When I get back, I’ll start revising book 4 in earnest.
- Along the way, I’ll take time to improve my web presence and ensure all of my sites (personal and author websites) are updated.
- I also intend to publish a ‘Large Print/Dyslexic Friendly’ format to make my books even more available.
- And – once I publish book 4, I plan on finally starting to market my books. I’m waiting until that point because I believe most people don’t want to wait six months for the next book – they want it now! I figure they might give me the benefit of the doubt, though, if I have four books available for them to read.
- And, while I’m on my research trip to Europe, I’ll be plotting out the prequel series where Sibyl (the ghost you never get to see) and Sadie are the main characters in a land far, far away….
FYI – in general, the prices on my books will be the same everywhere – or at least that’s my intent. They’re available in audiobook format (only at Google Play), ebook form, paperback, and hardback format at Amazon and other retailers like Rakuten Kobo and many more.
